Sky Sports have confirmed that Celtic are now preparing an offer for the Bundesliga player, who would solve a problem position for Martin O'Neill.
There are plenty of positions where Celtic
could do with additions in the ongoing winter window. That being said, it is worth pointing out that with more than half of the period gone, the Hoops have only been able to make just one signing. So, it would be unrealistic to expect that the club will be able to fill all their needs in the remainder of the time.

Let's just hope that they are able to fill most of them. One such area where reinforcements are required is centre-back.

The Hoops have not been able to make shuffle their centre-back options in the absence of Cameron Carter-Vickers, who is set to remain out for the foreseeable future. Both Liam Scales and Auston Trusty are left-footed, which might not be ideal for them to form the duo in the heart of the defence.

So, Celtic could do with a right-footed centre-back at the moment. And it looks like they have their eyes set on one currently playing in the Bundesliga.

Sky Sports confirm Celtic are preparing offer for Bundesliga player

As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic are preparing a loan offer for Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Aurele Amenda. It is understood that the Bundesliga club are aware of the interest and are awaiting a formal bid.

Amenda has not started games on a consistent basis for the club. So, he is believed to be looking to leave in this window.

Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to make a good enough offer for the German club to consider parting ways with the Swiss international. It is worth mentioning that while he does not start often, he has still made a decent number of appearances. So, he is very much a part of the rotation at Eintracht Frankfurt, and just because he is not a starter does not mean that they would be keen to let him leave on loan.
