Newcastle United are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they host Chelsea at St James’ Park.
It’s another big game for Newcastle United and one in which they need to show some kind of response.
While beating Fulham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday was a boost, Eddie Howe’s side still need to make up for their dismal defeat at Sunderland last time out in the Premier League.
Playing the so-called ‘bigger teams’ at St James’ Park generally brings out the best of this Newcastle United team, even if 12.30pm kick-offs do not lend themselves to brilliant atmospheres.
Chelsea, at one point, looked like a potential title challenger but the wheels have started to come off somewhat.
With that in mind, here’s everything you need to know about the game.
Date, kick-off time and venue for Newcastle United vs Chelsea

Newcastle United vs Chelsea team news
Newcastle’s injury list ahead of the Chelsea game is plentiful. Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman, Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier and William Osula are all doubts.
Howe could bring the likes of Nick Woltemade, Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton back into the starting lineup after they were largely rested for the win over Fulham.
For Chelsea, Estevao Willian is likely to miss the game through a small muscle injury. Former Newcastle transfer target Liam Delap is also injured.
Cole Palmer could play but isn’t fully fit at this stage. Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo are all injured.
Newcastle United vs Chelsea prediction
It would not be a surprise to see Newcastle turn it on. The Magpies generally raise their game at home against the bigger teams, which is a major frustration in itself.

Chelsea have failed to win three of their last four away games, so Newcastle should feel reasonably confident.
